Not great and made me realize that I didn't really like Puritans or that period of American history. However, it also crammed a lot of things from that time period that in the sense of romance novels were nothing but tropes.
Caroline was kind of unlikeable and Matt was pretty cool as a disfigured hero but still could've been developed more.
I don't know, it seems as if certain things that were glossed over could've been expanded and some of the things expanded could've been glossed.
Caroline went from feisty to annoying, independent to shrill and brave to wimpy. I would've beat half of the people in the town to death. The fact that should could heal people... well, just read the book if you want to see how that pans out in 1684 New England.
