Review

A quick beach read that has the sappiness of a Harlequin romance with the melodrama of a Hallmark/Lifetime movie.
The interesting twist was the female lead - Maggie Cruz - was the 'deformed' tragic character while Jake was the one left trying to convince her she was worthy of love.
Other than that, it was a straightfoward romance with little character development and enough plot development to propel the two characters together.
Nothing to write home about but it isn't an awful afternoon read.
